Wai Shan Luk graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2015, majoring in contemporary dance. She was awarded several scholarships during her study at the academy, including HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund, Academic Studies (Dance) Faculty Scholarship, HSBC Hong Kong HKAPA Mainland China Study Program Scholarship, Dean's Prize for Dance and SAPA scholarships.

 

She is currently performing and touring with Gecko Theatre and Van Huynh Company. The highlight of her performing career has been being part of creation development of KIN by Gecko Theatre and touring the show in the UK and National Theatre in January 2024.   

She collaborated with various choreographers including Ismael Ivo (Alvin Ailey), Laura Arís Alvarez (Ultima Vez), Natalia Hoecna (NDT), Christine Gouzelis (Jukstapoz Company), John Utans and Rob Tannion (DV8), Victoria Fox (Jasmine Vardimon). 

She worked with dance companies in Hong Kong including Hong Kong Arts Festival Society Limited, Passover Dance Company, E-Side Dance Company, Hong Kong Dance Alliance, Hong Kong Dance Exchange and La P en V Dance Company.  

 

Wai Shan worked as a dance tutor in Hong Kong 2015-2021. In 2017 February, she co-choreographed a first full length piece Post- WHAT and was performed in Hong Kong. She performed a solo work in the Austrian-Chinese Profound Arts Festival in Austria in 2018. From 2019-2021, she choreographed for The Hong Kong Children Musical Theatre annual performance. In 2020, she choreographed her second solo work ANNE. In 2021, she choreographed a 30 minutes piece -ology and co-choreographed a charity show Pasión Por Danzadirected by Alan Bailey.
